He currently advises a number of leading healthtech and fintech companies.
Previously, as the founder of one of the nation’s first national real property hazard risk information and compliance companies, he managed the development from concept to full commercialization of a new multi-million dollar facility and automated geospatial risk analytics and compliance platforms featured in technology magazines throughout the U.S. and overseas. He built the company to an industry “top five” provider with more than 60 strategic partnerships and 1,900 financial institution and insurance customers who relied upon the company for certifying the flood hazard risk of over $380 billion in real property, while maintaining the highest level of accuracy and incurring no claims in the company’s history. Sample customers included Countrywide Home Loans, BankOne, Kaufman and Broad (KB Homes), Aetna P&C, Travelers P&C and CIGNA P&C.
He successfully campaigned potential acquisition/capitalization suitors within Fortune 500 resulting in the sale of the business to CIGNA P&C, part of CIGNA, a Fortune 100 company with over $102 billion in assets where he was retained as executive vice president of the subsidiary. Following the CIGNA acquisition, he founded a company which distributed risk information solutions to national mortgage lenders for real estate settlement services including through an electronic vendor management and transaction platform with customers that included CIGNA P&C Financial Institution Services and FIS, the #1 financial services provider in the world in the FinTech 100. Mr. Leonard is regarded as an industry expert and has been the subject of numerous articles and interviews including on television and in publications such as Bank Technology News, Wall Street Journal, National Mortgage News, U.S. Banker, and Servicing Management Magazine.
